First United Methodist Church     Sunday Social Time:  8:30-9 a.m.
First & Delaware Streets              Sunday School:  9 a.m.
Fairfield, Illinois 62837                Morning Worship:  10 a.m.

The day of the Lord’s return will surprise us like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a loud noise, and the heat will melt the whole universe. Then the earth and everything on it will be seen for what they are. Everything will be destroyed. So you should serve and honor God by the way you live.    (2 Peter 3:10-11)

The Chancel Choir will be presenting the cantata "Tree of Light" on Sunday, December 13, during the 10 a.m. worship service.  Plan to attend this Christmas celebration as the choir, local musicians, and musicians from the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra present "Tree of Light."  The cantata will be narrated by Holden August.

Our sanctuary and Nativity scene look beautiful for Christmas!  Those who decorated were Tom & Janice Tucker, Dave & Kathy Land, Ken Otey, Gary & Nancy Hallam, Janie McDowell, Bill Book, Clifford Reever, Cheryl Holmes, and Sylvia McDannel.  Thank you!

First UMC is sad to announce the resignation of Kim Hutcheson from her position as Children's Ministry Coordinator effective December 30. Kim has served so very well in this position  and will be greatly missed on our church staff! Please join us in wishing her the best during worship on Dec. 13.  That will be her last Sunday in her staff position due to holiday vacation plans.

Our Greeters/Ushers for November are (l-r) Glen & Tammy Lee and Allen & June Wilson.  Thank you for volunteering!

"Do No Harm...Do Good...Stay in Love with God."

Listen to "The Methodist Hour" each Sunday at 7 a.m. on WFIW AM 1390/FM 104.9
